When you love someone, let them go. Part #1
To say the least, 2007 was a very emotional and dramatic part of my life. I was married to my ex-wife for about 8 years. And from her previous marriage, we have a total of 3 wonderful children. I loved all of them dearly and will continue to do so.
It came as a surprised to me when I discovered that she was cheating on me with men from myspace.com. She has been on myspace for about 4 years now. I didn’t realized it then, but I had a bad feeling about this social networking website. And since she wasn’t working, she was always on that website everyday.
She was always adding new friends, looking at people’s profiles, and making comments on her network of friends. From a bird’s eye view, this is as harmless as walking through the mall on a Saturday afternoon.
Several years ago when I’d found out that she was really addicted to this myspace habit, I’d warned her that this habit could destroy our family one day. I encouraged her to spend more time with the family, but she resisted aggressively. She told me that she didn’t have many friends and that myspace allowed her to make friends that she would’ve never had.
Keep in mind that my wife is a very beautiful woman and many guys offline found her attractive. She’s completely aware of this and she loves the attention that she gets. With myspace, it allowed her pictures to be admired on a 24/7 schedule. Plus, she was always getting positive comments from other men, and these comments made her more inclined to logon and check her myspace message on a hourly and regular basis.
